Father of two minors kidnapped, killed in Pulwama
Pulwama: A civilian was killed after he was abducted by unidentified gunmen on Thursday late evening in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Manzoor Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Mohammad Lone of Dogripora village of Pulwama district according to his family was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen and later killed.
“Gunmen barged into our house and kidnapped Manzoor while saying that he (Manzoor) would accompany us for while as we want talk to him regarding some important issue,” said one of his family member.
“We waited for him till late evening but he didn’t return and we all got worried till a local Chowkidar came with the news that Manzoor has been killed in a nearby village Gulzarpora which is about three kms from Dogripora,” he added.
“We don’t know why he was killed but whosoever killed him should have thought about his wife and two minors before killing him,” said one of his relatives, asking “who will take care of his family now and what have the killers achieved by killing him.”
Another relative said before few months, some gunmen barged into his house and thrashed him ruthlessly.
Manzoor as per locals was working as a labourer from last two years in a nearby village.
He has also worked in CRPF department as a cook for about two years, which he later left due to unknown reasons, they said.
Belonging to a poor family, he is survived by a minor daughter and son besides his wife. His family comprising his parents and brothers are living separately.
Meanwhile, as per locals hundreds of people participated in his last rites and he was laid to rest in his native village on Friday morning.
