Five houses, two shops gutted in blaze
Sopore: Five residential houses and two shops were completely damaged in a massive fire incident at Chankhan area of Sopore that was broke out late last night, reportedly due to the electric short-circuit.
The fire broke out from the three-storey residential house of Khazir Muhammad Malla and spread to other nearby houses due to which at least five residential houses and two shops were damaged.
Reports added that the electric short circuit occurred in the house of Khazir Muhammad Malla at about 12 am on Tuesday night. The fire engulfed the whole house and set ablaze four other houses in the neighborhood, besides damaging two shops situated there.
The residential houses damaged in the blaze were belonged to Bashir Ahmad Malla, Abdul Rashid Malla, late Muhammad Maqbool Malla and Ghulam Nabi Malla
Fire tenders with the help of locals doused the flames to prevent fire for spreading to other near houses in the vicinity
Reports said that property worth lacs of rupees were completely gutted in the mishap.
