Five houses damaged in overnight blaze in Chankhan Sopore

Sopore: An overnight fire that erupted in Sopore’s Chankhan locality has left five residential houses completely damaged.
According to initial reports the fire emerged from the house of Khazir Muhammad Malla and quickly spread to nearby houses.
While the cause of fire is believed to be short circuit, officials however said that the investigation will reveal the actual reason.
“Can’t say exactly how the fire erupted but we are looking into it. Investigation will reveal it,” an official said.
The blaze erupted at around 12 midnight .
The houses of Bashir Ahmad Malla, Abdul Rashid Malla, late Muhammad Maqbool Malla and Ghulam Nabi Malla have been damaged.
Reports said that fire tenders quickly reached the spot and prevented the fire from spreading nearby houses.
