Pulwama: The educated youth who was professionally an Electrical Engineer was on Monday laid to rest after multiple funeral prayers. He was killed in Tral gunfight along with his associate yesterday.
Mudasir Ahmad Khan, son of Farooq Ahmad Khan resident of Midoora was working as Electrical Engineer with a private cellular company before joining the militant ranks in 2018.
Mudasir along with his foreign associate was killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and government forces on Sunday afternoon in Pinglish village of Tral in southern Kashmir.
Mudasir, 27 according to locals left home last year in January after he purportedly came to know that he is wanted by police as according to them he was he is working for militants.
As per his friends, Mudasir was very hardworking guy and was never arrested before joining militant ranks.
After completing his bachelor’s degree from Government Degree College Tral, Mudasir admitted himself in ITI Tral from where he pursued a diploma course in electronics.
A resident of Midoora, Tral Khan after completing his diploma started working as an technician with a private cellular company where he worked for about three years before joining the militant ranks, they said.
Belonging to a poor family, Mudasir is survived by a younger brother and his parents.
Locals said that his body was completely charred beyond recognition.
Soon after his dead body reached home, two back to back funeral prayers were held in which thousands of people participated and his dead body wasn’t shown to anyone, eyewitnesses said.
He was laid to rest in a local graveyard amid massive pro freedom and pro militant sloganeering in presence of thousands of people, they said.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was observed in Tral belt of Pulwama district against the militant killings.
All the business establishments and shops remained closed in the area while as traffic was also off the roads.
Furthermore, the mobile internet services that were snapped in wake of the gunfight on Sunday afternoon continued to remain suspended.
