Clashes erupt during CASO in Kulgam village
Srinagar: Intense clashes have erupted in south Kashmir’s Budroo village in Kulgam district on Tuesday morning after government forces laid a cordon of the area.
Reports said that youth during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Budroo area of Yaripora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district pelted stones on the forces which was retaliated by them using tear smoke shells.
Reports said that hundreds of youth hit the streets when ‘CASO’ was launched by government forces in the area.
They said that youths threw stones on troops amid intense pro-freedom sloganeering, the forces respond them with teargas shelling.
After receiving specific inputs of the presence of the militants in the area, joint forces cordoned off the area and started the searches, sources said.
Meanwhile, a door-to-door search operation has been launched in the area after all the entry and exit points were sealed to the area. (KNO)
