Jammu blast: Our son is innocent, says family of arrested youth

Kulgam: A day after a youth from South Kashmir Kulgam district was arrested from Nagrota in connection with hurling a grenade in Jammu yesterday, the family of the arrested youth Friday said that their son is innocent and was not involved in hurling the explosive material.
The family of Yasir Ahmad a resident of Dassen village in Yaripora area of Kulgam demanded immediate release of their son.
Yasir Ahmad, a resident of Dassen village in Yaripora area of Kulgam district was arrested by Jammu police for his alleged role in Jammu blast in which two persons were killed and over 30 were injured.
Yasir, a 9th class student in a local school was at maternal home day before the incident to spend his winter holidays, said his family members, adding that on Wednesday, he had asked his maternal grandparents that he is going home back but didn’t reach his home as they were not aware that he has left his maternal home.
“We were expecting him at his maternal home but we got shocked when we watched the news on TV that Yasir has been arrested in connection with Jammu bombing,” they said.
The family appealed Governor Satya pal Malik to intervene so that their beloved is released.
Locals while pleading his innocence also demanded his release and said that Governor Administration must think about the future of this student as he was very bright and a brave student.
