Army man who was feared abducted is safe, says police

Srinagar: An Army man who was feared to be abducted by suspected militants from his home in Qazipora area of Budgam district on Friday evening has returned home safe.

Police said that the army man who was on leave is safe and media should not speculate about his abduction.  

The soldier been identified as rifle man Mohammed Yasin Bhat is associated with the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry.

“Rfn Yaseen Bhat resident of Qazipora Budgam, is safe in his unit. Media is requested not to speculate. Further details shall follow,” SSP Budgam said.

Meanwhile, a defence Spokesperson claimed the soldier was “safe” and the media reports of his abduction were “incorrect”.
