Attacker nabbed, says police
Jammu: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested the person who lobbed the grenade at Jammu bus stand.
A police spokesman said that after the blast the scene of the blast was cordoned off and investigation was immediately set in motion. All check points were put on alert and checking was immediately started.
“Based on witness examination and CCTV footage analysed, a suspect carrying a red bag was zeroed in and the photograph was circulated across all check points,” the spokesman added.
Based on this, the suspect was apprehended at Ban Toll Plaza Nagrota by an alert police party and he was detained for questioning.
The person has been identified as Yasir Javed Bhat, son of Javed Bhat, of Dasen, Kulgam.
During questioning, the accused admitted to his crime, the spokesman added. He said that further investigation in underway.
