Shopian: A day-long awareness programme about legal services was Tuesday organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with district administration at Community Facilitation Centre Zainapora Shopian.
District Session Judge Shopian Ashok Kumar Shavan, Sub District Magistrate Zainapora Syed Ahmad Shah and other officials from various departments were present on the occasion.
Hundreds of people and representatives of various departments were informed about various central and state welfare schemes along with prospects of legal aspect.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal and District Session Judge said that through such type of camps people of rural areas will come to know about the all major services and schemes provided by the various departments from which they will be benefitted.
He said assistance is provided to needy population by the district line departments identified by the paralegal volunteers of the district by various means which remain available for all legal assistance services.
Sub District Magistrate Zainapora said this is a good opportunity for the citizen of the district particularly of Zainapora area to get information about various developmental schemes.
He also said that people should come forward and reap the benefits of all schemes provides by the government.
Other luminaries present on the occasion highlighted the conditions under which people can apply for legal help and under what conditions legal services will be free.
