Sopore: The students as well as traders Monday expressed resentment against the continuous suspension of mobile internet services in north Kashmir’s Sopore and Rafiabad from the last five days.
The students and traders residing and operating in areas said that suspension of internet has hampered their education and businessmen badly.
The internet service was blocked soon after the gunfight started in Babagund area of Langate Handwara on 28th of February last Thursday.
As the internet has become an important tool for conducting day to day activities, people in Sopore and Rafiabad areas mostly students and traders have been suffering immensely in wake of continuous internet suspension.
“It has become a norm in Sopore for authorities to add to the woes of common people by blocking internet services after the encounters erupt in any parts of north Kashmir. The blockage of internet in Sopore town has became a necessity of sorts for the authorities,” said a student from Sopore.
“With a number of competitive examinations coming up in the month, students are facing hardships in view of continuous internet ban,” he added.
