ECI team arrives in Srinagar, to take call on holding polls in state

Srinagar:  A team from the Election Commission of India (ECI) has reached Srinagar and will review the preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the security situation in the state.

The team, sources said is headed by Deputy Election Commissioner Sandeep Sharma.

The team has arrived at hotel Lalit and will hold meetings with leaders of seven national and three regional parties there.

According to sources they will be holding discussions with officials including Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police of 10 districts in the Kashmir Valley and two in the Ladakh division.

Sources said that they expect a presser before they fly back to New Delhi on Tuesday.
