Kashmir issue must be resolved soon: Turkey on India Pakistan tensions
ANKARA: Turkey on Wednesday said that it is concerned over the prevailing tension between Pakistan and India and has pitched for a dialogue between the two countries saying they are ready to intermediate between the two countries.
“We are concerned over this tension. We want to call for common sense and calm between the parties. Steps that will escalate the tension should be avoided,”Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said told reporters in the capital Ankara, Anadolu reported.
Cavusoglu’s remarks came after Pakistani and Indian claims of shooting down each other’s jets.He also said the main issue between the countries was the Kashmir issue and this issue must be solved “as soon as possible” within the framework of international law.
“Turkey is always willing to contribute to easing tension,” Cavusoglu said.
