Police arrests JKLF Chief, Jamaat leaders

Srinagar: Police on Friday evening arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and Jama’at-e-Islami Chiefs from their residences, police sources said.

They said that Yasin Malik was arrested from his Maisuma residence and taken to Kothi Bagh police station.

Police also arrested Ameeri Jama’at Dr Abdul Hamid Fayaz, Advocate Zahid Ali (Spokesperson), Ghulam Qadir Lone (Former Secretary General), Abdur Rouf (Ameer Zila Islamabad), Mudasir Ahmad (Ameer Tehsil Pahalgam), Abdul Salam (Dialgam), Bakhtawar Ahmad (Dialgam), Mohammad Hayat (Tral), Bilal Ahmad (Chadoora), Ghulam Mohammad Dar (Chak Sangran) and dozens more.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to deploy 100 more companies of paramilitary forces in Kashmir.

These include 45 companies from CRPF, 35 from BSF, 10 each from ITBP and SSB.
