Drug peddler arrested in Humhama: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that they have arrested on person during a naka checking following an action against those involved in drug peddling in Budgam district’s Humhama area.

“One person identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar @Imtiyaz resident of Hyderpora, an auto diver, was arrested for the drug offences has been taken to Police Post Humhama where he remains in custody,” police spokesperson said in a statement.

The spokesperson said that officers have seized 120 capsules of Spasmoproxyvan and fuki after an Auto bearing registration number JK01S-1812 was intercepted by the naka party.

“On checking contraband substances were recovered from the driver’s possession,” it said.

Case FIR No 30/2019 under relevant sections has been registered in PS Budgam and investigations are on.

Police have requested the community members to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood, while assuring that persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

“Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep your society free from the scourge of drug menace,” the spokesperson said.
