Urges Guv Admin to ensure security of Kashmiris outside Valley

Jammu: Condemning the mob violence that broke out in Jammu in wake of Thursday’s Lethpora attack, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) President and former Khansahib MLA, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen Saturday urged the Governor administration and Central Government to ensure the safety and security of Kashmiris living in Jammu and outside the state.
In a statement issued here, Hakeem Yasin said, “By targeting members of a particular community, anti-social and fringe elements in Jammu are vitiating peaceful atmosphere and unity of the state. We highly condemn the attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu and some other parts of the country and appeal for communal harmony.”
Urging state and central government to make efforts for safeguarding lives and properties of Kashmiris living outside the Valley in various parts of the country, he said, “It is duty of the government to instill confidence among the Kashmiri people living outside Kashmir. A situation of fear has been created which is giving Kashmiris living outside sleepless nights.”
He said the losses to property and vehicles in Jammu on Friday were ‘an attempt by communal elements to stifle Kashmiris in their own state’.
“There are brazen attempts to damage the communal harmony and brotherhood and the administration must swing into action to ensure that such attacks are stopped, and that life and property of the Kashmiris and other innocents are protected,” Hakeem demanded.
He appealed to people of all regions to defeat the communal forces unitedly. “Some communal forces want to create this situation for petty political benefits. But the people of Jammu and Kashmir will defeat their nefarious designs unitedly, like the past,” he added.
