Five gamblers arrested in Bandipora: Police
Srinagar: J&K Police Friday said that it raided a gambling site in Bandipora and arrested 5 gamblers from the spot.
“Five persons identified as Jahangir Ahmad Magary, Farooq Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmad, residents of Sumbal, Naseer Ahmad @tanza and Nazir Ahmad Hajam, both residents of Tangpora Sumbal were arrested following input about gambling activities in Tangpora area of Sumbal, Bandipora,” the police spokesperson said
Officers have seized playing cards and a stake amount of ₹ 6100/- from the gamblers.
Case FIR No 19/2019 under section 13 Gambling Act stands registered in Police Station Sumbal, the spokesperson said.
“Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to pass information regarding the crimes in their neighborhood to the local police units.”
