Rajnath to visit Valley on Friday
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will reach Srinagar on Friday to take stock of the ground-situation after a militant attack on a CRPF convoy killed at least 30 personnel in Awantipora.
The Ministry of Home Affairs said on Thursday that Rajnath has spoken to J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik as well as CRPF DG RR Bhatnagar who have appraised him of the situation.
Rajnath was scheduled to visit Bihar but has cancelled it in the wake of the Awantipore attack which has been claimed by Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed.
HM also spoke to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, DG CRPF and the Home Secretary regarding the Pulwama attack. They have apprised him of the situation. HM has cancelled his scheduled visit to Bihar tomorrow. MHA is closely monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi also tweeted and expressed his anguish over the Pulwama attack.
Attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama is despicable. I strongly condemn this dastardly attack. The sacrifices of our brave security personnel shall not go in vain. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of the brave martyrs. May the injured recover quickly.
