Srinagar:  Former bureaucrat Shah Faisal on Wednesday asked government to withdraw notices issued to protesting NHM employees and said that the absorption capacity in Health Department is very high.

Faisal took to social networking website Facebook to put forward suggestion to end the month long dead lock between government and NHM employees that has critically hampered work in medical facilities across valley.According to Faisal a delegation of protesting NHM employees met him and shared their issues.

“The committee constituted under Pr. Sec Health to examine the demands of NHM staff should meet immediately. Government has to take a long term view of the problem. There are 8247 employees who can be regularized in a phased manner,” Faisal wrote.

He wrote that to begin with, 1020 employees who have been recommended for regularization by a Committee headed by Pr. Secretary with Financial Implication of 27.41 Cr can be taken up.

“The absorption capacity of Health Department is very high and in view of the upcoming health institutions like AIIMS and Medical Colleges, it shouldn’t be a problem to adjust this highly trained manpower,” Faisal said, while urging government to withdraw notices given to NHM staff immediately.

Faisal said that without giving a fair audience to protesting employees the Government should not take any harsh steps.
