Wathoora encounter: Second militant also a local
Srinagar: Police sources have identified the second militant as well who was killed along with his associate in an encounter during the wee hours in Wathoora area of Budgam district.
The second militant has been identified as Shoiab Morsi from Bumrath Okia Kulgam. Earlier police had identified only one among the slain militants as Hilal Wani alias Abu Maaz, a resident of Munchew Yaripora Kulgam.
Both the slain militants are believed to be associated with LeT.
Notably, a joint team of army and police launched a cordon and search operation in Wathoora area after having specific input about presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon the government forces triggering an encounter which resulted in killing of the two militants.
