Two militants killed in Wathora encounter
Srinagar: Two militants were killed during a nocturnal gunfight that raged between militants and government forces in Wathoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.
A police officer said that two dead bodies have been found whose identification is being ascertained.
He said that search operation is on in the area. Earlier a joint team of army and police launched cordon and search operation in Wathoora area after having specific input about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon the government forces triggering an encounter which resulted in killing of two militants.
A police officer said that earlier at around 3 am there was brief exchange of fire, later cordon was tightened and fresh contact was established in which two militants were killed.
