Mysterious blast kills 15 year old in Kupwara
Srinagar: A teenage boy was killed in a mysterious blast at Anderhama area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Police sources said that a blast occurred inside a shop at around 3:55 pm at Anderhama village in Drugmulla.
The blast left a teenager identified as Suhail Ahmad Wani (15) son of SonaullahWani severely injured, who according to sources died on the spot.
The blast believed to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded with a bang causing damaged to the shop (General Store) as well.
The blast created panic in the village as many villagers rushed out of their homes to check what has actually happened, a witness said.
A police officer of the concerned police station also confirmed the death of the teenager and said that investigations have been started to get the details about the blast and how the explosive reached the shop.
SSP KupwaraShriramAmbarkar said that they are ascertaining the facts with regard to the incident. (with GNS inputs)
