Snowfall aftermath: All routes cleared in Bijbehara says Prez MC

Anantnag: Authorities in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district said that all the routes in the town have been cleared of the snow.
President Municipal Committee Bijbehara, Shaheena Parveen claimed that snow from all routes of Bijbehara town has been cleared. “I was personally monitoring the whole situation from the last 3 days and sought out all the grievances of all the locals,” she said.
“We were clearing routes including link routes on Thursday and even we cleared national highway, though it was not in our domain,” she said, adding that “we have been receiving phone calls and people have been visiting our office asking for the restoration of the power supply in Chinar town.”
“I took up the issue with concerned department and they have assured it will be restored in the entire area up to Friday evening, she said while adding that water supply has been already restored in the entire area,” she added.
She urged various departments of the district particularly Bijbehara town to work in unison with each other and make it a point to ensure that people don’t have to suffer.
“I urge authorities to activate their field staff and machinery to make sure that all the exigencies that have risen post snow fall are dealt with incisively everywhere,” she said.
Pertinently, Kashmir has witnessing a fresh spell of wet weather with higher reaches receiving heavy snowfall and plains lashed by a mix of rain followed by snowfall from Wednesday.
