Weatherman predicts another spell of downpour, Feb 6 and 7 peak days
Srinagar: Weatherman has predicted another spell of wet four days peaking on February 6 and 7.
On Monday the forecaster said that scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir in next four days.
“…there would be high moisture feeding from Arabian Sea over northwest India specifically over Western Himalayan Region (WHR)–(Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) mainly during 6th to 8th February,” an official of the Meteorological Department said.
“As a result, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain/snowfall would occur over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on 4th evening. The distribution and intensity of the rain/snowfall will increase thereafter with fairly widespread to widespread rain/snowfall over WHR from 5th to 8th,” he said, adding, “Isolated heavy rain/snowfall would occur over Jammu & Kashmir on 6th and 7th and over Himachal Pradesh on 7th February.”
Overall, the official said, peak activity over Western Himalayan Region will be on 6th and 7th February.
