Burglars on prowl in Sopore, loot two shops again

Sopore: For the past some time, the burglars have wreaked havoc in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In yet another instance, the burglars once again struck and looted two Mobile phone shops during the intervening night of Friday-Saturday and decamped with goods worth lakhs of Rupees and cash in Sopore town.
The burglars looted the mobile phone shops ‘Mobile Point’ of Bashir Ahmad Dar and ‘Mobile Gallery’ of Muzaffar Ahmad Dar at General Bus Stand Sopore during the intervening night and decamped with mobile phones and other electrical goods worth lakhs.
Earlier, dozens of shops were looted in Sopore since last fifteen days while as police and district administration is still clueless over such incidents.
The police and district administration are least bothered over these rising burglary incidents in town, said Haji Muhammad Ashraf Ganaie, former trade president of the town.
He threatened to intensify protests in case the burglars are not arrested.
Meanwhile, scores of shopkeepers assembled there and held a protest against the district administration and the police, accusing them of failing to stop such incidents in the town.
However, police said that the cases in this regard stand registered while as a manhunt has been launched to nab the robbers.
