Bullet-ridden body of militant commander’s cousin found

Shopian: A bullet-ridden body of a young woman was recovered from SuganDragad area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday morning.
Locals said that the bullet-riddled body of the woman was recovered from CherbaghDragad, the place where funerals of slain Zeenat-ul-Islam and Dr Shams-ul-Haq were held last month.
“We heard around 10 to 15 gun shots at around 7:30 pm on Thursday evening but nobody was aware about the incident,” they said.
Locals from Pulwama said that IshratMuneerBhat was abducted by unidentified gunmen who were boarding a car near Government Degree College for Boys in Pulwama.
A police officer said that Ishrat of Dangerpora in main town Pulwama was abducted by militants and later killed as bullets were fired from point blank range in Sugan area.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is going on,” he said.
Moreover, a 10-second video went viral on social media in which the slain woman is seen seeking pardon before being shot dead.
The slain woman is maternal cousin of the slain militant commander Zeenat-ul-Islam who along with his associate was killed in an encounter at KatporaKulgam on January 13, last month.
The family of the slain woman refused to talk to the media. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters besides her parents.
His father and one of his brothers are working in police department, locals said.
Ishrat according to his locals has completed his B.A from Government Degree College Pulwama and was presently pursuing diploma in computer sciences from a local institute.
Hundreds of people participated in her funeral prayers, locals said.
