Safapora locals stage protest seeking Degree College
Srinagar: Locals from Greater Safapora and its adjacent areas of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district Tuesday staged a protest to press for their demand that a Degree College should be sanctioned for the area.
A large number of people from Safapora including Civil Society, representatives of student bodies, transporters, traders and labourers federation appealed Governor Administration to sanction a Degree College for the area.
“We demand establishment of Degree College at Safapora for which recommendations from Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal under letter number DCG/ESTT/286/2018 dated 27/11/2018 and endorsed by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir were submitted to the committee constituted by SAC for establishment of degree colleges in Jammu and Kashmir. In this regard authorities have ignored this area while recently sanctioning degree colleges for the state,” said a local resident.
The inhabitants urged upon the Governor Administration to address their demand.
They said the locals are ready to go to any extent to get their genuine demand fulfilled. (CNS)
