Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) General Secretary GhulamNabi Lone Hanjura on Wednesday termed the situation in the aftermath of snowfall worrisome in Kashmir and said the administration is yet to reach to a plethora of areas which got disconnected from main towns due to the whiteout.
In a statement issued here, Hanjura said that situation after the snowfall is turning more problematic due to government’s non-serious and dilatory approach and in scores of far-flung areas of the state, connectivity is yet to be restored.
“Men and machinery should have been kept ready to meet any eventuality and that snow-clearance machinery should have been kept in a position of readiness. Besides the far-flung areas of north and south Kashmir, there are scores of areas in Chrar-e-Sharif where government’s much-hyped snow clearance machines are yet to reach and people are facing immense hardships,” Hanjura said.
The PDP General Secretary further underscored the need for a smooth supply of essentials in the snowbound areas and demanded that the restoration of power and electricity in affected areas of Valley should be government’s top priority
