Militant who escaped from Shirmal gunfight appears at associate’s funeral, offers gun salute

Shopian: The militant who had managed to give forces a slip during gunfight in Shopian orchards on Tuesday, today appeared at the funeral of his slain associate in injured conditions and offered gun salute.
Locals said that the militant appeared at the funeral of slain militant Shoib Shah in Shirmal area of Shopian and fired with his rifle in air.
They claimed that the militant was in injured condition and soon after offering gun salute to his slain associates left the place.
Locals identified the injured militant as Aabid Manzoor Magray from Nowpora Payeen.
Shoiab along with his two associates was killed in an encounter in Shirmal orchards on Tuesday.
Almost 10 funeral prayers were held for Shah who was killed in the fierce gunfight in the orchards of Shopian along with two more associates.
“The burial is yet to take place,” locals said.
The gunfight ended after forces blasted the militants hideout.
