Says Kissan Cell president among several NC workers join PDP

Kishtwar: In a major setback to National Conference (NC), the party’s district head of Kissan Cell and a prominent politician alongwith a Panch and several workers joined Peoples Democratic Party here, the official handout of PDP reads.
Mohammad Munwar, District President Kissan Cell National Conference, elected Panch of Wardra in PanchayatTrigamalongwith their supporters joined PDP in presence of Member Legislative Council FirdousTak here, the statement issued here reads.
Speaking on the occasion, Tak said that people of Kishtwar have since long faced the brunt for supporting NC and giving mandate to this party since last around three decades. “The BJP which projected itself as an alternate also betrayed the mandate and failed to address the issues confronting the masses”, he said, adding that the party instead of providing relief to people only complicated the situation and added to the miseries.
He said that Peoples Democratic Party has reached out to the masses at the grossroot level even when it was denied mandate by the people of Chenab region in consecutive elections. “For us it is not only the electoral politics, its beyond that. Our focous has been to serve the masses and we will continue to do that”, he said.
Tak today said that the strength of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lies in its agenda and cadre, who have stood up against the regional and national political establishments with a hope of peace, prosperity and development.
“Initiation of thought-process for a peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue was the biggest achievement of PDP and the party’s this contribution has been admired even by its opponents as well”, he said.
“The formation of governments at two occasions, first in 2002 and second in 2015, in J&K was not our achievement as attaining power was never the basic focus of the party but only means to achieve the goal”, Tak said.
