Grenade blast in Lal Chowk creates panic
Srinagar: Suspected militants on Friday evening lobbed a grenade towards a CRPF post in business Hub LalChowk.
Official sources said that suspected persons lobbed a grenade this evening towards a bunker protecting the CRPF camp at Palladium Gully LalChowk.
However, they said that no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident while the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
Meanwhile, panic gripped the area after the explosion took place as shopkeepers also downed their shutters and even traffic went into disarray.
Meanwhile, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed the responsibility of the grenade attack on a CRPF bunker at LalChowk here.
A JeM spokesperson Mohammad Hassan in a statement issued to GNS said the attack was in revenge for its slain commander Nasir Khan alias Abdul Rehman.
