NC, Cong workers join PDP in Bandipora

Srinagar: Dozens of workers of National Conference (NC) and Congress on Tuesday joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in PanarPanchayat segment of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Prominent among them who joined PDP was MohdYousuf Chichi, brother of former SarpanchPanar, MolviYaqoob Chichi along with dozens of his supporters.
According to the statement issued here, the workers joined PDP in presence of party district president GhulamNabiTantray, former member Gujjar and Bakerwal board Mian Mohammad Noorani, GulTanveer, and Mohammad Maqbool.
The new entrants were welcomed by the PDP office bearers of Bandipora constituency.
The workers put forth some demands before the party’s executive body and also pledged to work for the betterment and strengthening of PDP at the grassroots level.
Several demands put forth by the workers include drinking water facility, clearance of roads, establishment of the dispensary, power supply and up gradation of inner link roads of Panar.
The district president assured them that their demands would be taken up with the concerned authorities to seek their redressal.
Meanwhile, residents of HubalAhamsharief demanded that the link road is yet to be cleared of snow which the district assured them that the issue will be taken up with concerned authorities to seek immediate redressal.
The party office bearers led by PDP district president, GhulamNabiTantray also visited various villages including Pethkoot, Bonakoot, Ahamsharief, Panar and Hudbal where they interacted with party workers and locals residents.
