Girls attempts suicide in Sopore, Bandipora

Sopore: A 19-year-old student allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping into river Jhelum at Chankhan area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
Reports said that she was saved there by some fishermen and was rushed to Sub District hospital Sopore where she is under treatment.
Meanwhile, police took cognizance of this incident.
In another incident another eighteen-year-old girl tried to commit suicide in a village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district as the girl had failed in her class 12 exams, results of which were declared yesterday.
An official said that the girl (name withheld) tried to commit suicide in Qazipora village of Bandipora after consuming some poisonous substance at her home.
