Chandigarh, Jan 5 (PTI) The on-going cold conditions in Punjab and Haryana Saturday aggravated with minimum temperature hovering at 3.5 degrees Celsius at Narnaul, making it the coldest place in the region.
The minimum in Narnaul, Haryana, was one notch below normal, the MeT office said here.
Besides, several parts of the two states remained engulfed under a thick blanket of fog which adversely affected the air, rail and road traffic in the region, the MeT said.
While Amritsar braved a low of four degrees Celsius, one notch above normal, the minimum at Karnal was 5.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
Among other places, Chandigarh settled at a low of 5.5 degrees followed by 5.7 degrees at Hisar, one notch below normal, 7.4 degrees at Patiala and 7.7 degrees Celsius at Ludhiana.
The MeT forecast cloudy sky with likely rain or hailstorm at isolated laces till Sunday. Besides, the region is likely to face dense to very dense fog till Sunday.
