SPO shot dead in Pulwama
Srinagar: Militants Tuesday evening fired upon a Special Police Officer (SPO) who later succumbed to his injuries.
He was identified as Sameer Ahmad Mir resident of Hajin-payeen Rajpora. The injured SPO was rushed to PHC Rajpora, where he succumbed.
Sameer, a resident of Hanjan Payeen village suffered serious bullet wounds and was shifted to the nearby district hospital where he succumbed to injuries,” they said.
A senior police officer also confirmed the incident to a local news gathering agency.
“Sameer was fired upon by the suspected militants at his home. He was working as an SPO,” he said.
Meanwhile, Army, Special Operation Group of Police and CRPF cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to nab the attackers. (with inputs from GNS)
