Freezing of water bodies, LAWDA issues advisory

Srinagar: Vice Chairman Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) Syed Abid Rashid, who is also Deputy Commissioner Srinagar issued an advisory asking people and the youth not to walk or play over the frozen parts of dal lake and it’s interior parts stating that any such move can prove dangerous.
“Due to sub zero temperatures in Srinagar parts of Dal Lake freeze these days, especially at the banks & interiors. It is dangerous & potentially life threatening to walk/play on it. It is requested to take note & desist from any such action,” the advisory says.
Temperatures in Kashmir have plummeted below freezing point and have touched minus 7.6 breaking a three decade old record.
