Forces start CASO in Awantipora, internet snapped

Pulwama: Government forces on Wednesday launched a Search and Cordon Operation (CASO) in Badriwan forest of Awantipora following inputs about the presence of militants in the area, sources said.

Sources said that following the inputs about the presence of militants in a hideout in Karewa of Renzipora belt of Awantipora in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the joint teams of army’s Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir’s Police’s Special Operations Group and paramilitary forces launched a cordon and search operation.

As per locals the search operation was started around 6 am and is still on.

Meanwhile, authorities have snapped internet services in Awantipora and Pulwama police districts to avoid law and order problems.

Reports said that internet services have been snapped in Tral, Pulwama, Pampore and Awantipora area.
