Three lottery sellers arrested from Lal Chowk

Srinagar: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three lottery sellers from LalChowk area of Srinagar who as per police were cheating common masses at AbiGuzar area.
“Acting on specific information regarding the presence of lottery sellers in LalChowk, three lottery sellers who were cheating common masses at AbiGuzar area were arrested,” police spokesman said.
He said the arrested persons were found selling lottery inside a vehicle bearing registration number JK01AH-2517 and were identified as Nisar Ahmad Shah, son of Peer Gayas Din of Badshah Nagar, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat of AbiGuzar Srinagar and Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh of B.B Cant Batwara.
“Cash amount of Rs 33,080, three mobile phones and other relevant material was recovered from their possession,” police said, adding that a case under FIR number 97/2018 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kothibagh and investigation in the matter is underway.
