Potholed, narrow Vehil-Amshipora road irks commuters

Shopian: The potholed Vehil-Amshipora road has left thousands of commuters to suffer as the Roads and Building (R&B) department has utterly failed to repair the road.
The local residents while talking to ‘Kashmir Vision’ said that government has ignored the vital Vehil-Amshipora road from decades as it was not macadamized since long, thus leaving the commuters to suffer.
The locals said the road has developed many potholes and its condition is worsening with each passing day.
They added that besides developing potholes, the road is very narrow, which result in frequent traffic jams, thus adding to the miseries of the commuters.
The locals demanded attention of the R&B department and said the road should be widened as well as macadamized at an earliest so that the people could heave a sigh of relief.
Executive Engineer R&B Shopian, Zahoor Ahmad said that work on the road will start very soon as the funds have been released. “The Vehil-Amshipora road will be macadamized soon, he said.
