Six militants, including Deputy Chief of AGH killed in Tral gunfight
Srinagar: Six militants, including the Deputy Chief of Zakir Musa led Ansar ul Gazwat ul Hind have been killed in the ongoing gunfight which broke out between militants and government forces in Arampora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 42RR, 180 BN CRPF and SOG Awantipora launched cordon and search operation in Arampora after receiving credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As soon joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.
Official sources said that six militants have been killed and are believed to be members of Zakir Musa led group Ansar ul Gazwat ul Hind.
Among the slain militants one is believed to be the deputy chief of AGH who has been identified as Soliha@Rehaan Khan of Arampora. However, the bodies of the militants have not been retrieved yet. Authorities have suspended mobile internet services in the area as a precautionary measure.
