Pulwama: South Kashmir’s Pulwama district observed a shutdown on sixth consecutive day on Thursday against the civilian killings in Sirnoo village on Saturday last.
The call for the shutdown has been issued by Auqaf Committee.
Reports from Pulwama said that business establishments, educational institutes and other institutions remained shut in the area while as public transport was also off the roads.
The call for shutdown had been called by Auqaf committee of Pulwama District on Sunday asking the people to continue shutdown till Friday against the ‘inhumane’ killings.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people including religious scholars, Hurriyat activists are visiting the families of slain youth to offer condolences to the bereaved families.
Notably, internet services continue to remain snapped in Pulwama police district since Saturday last.
Pertinently 10 locals including three militants were killed while as dozens were injured during an encounter in Kharpora Sirnoo Pulwama on last Saturday morning.
