KU Law students stage protests, demand exams to be held in March
Srinagar: Students of Kashmir University’s law school on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration, demanding their final examinations be held in March instead of “rushing through it.”
Reports said that students from 6th semester LLB including from supplementary shift assembled outside the office of varsity’s vice chancellor and staged a protest.
The authorities are unnecessarily rushing through the examination,” the protesting students said.
“The authorities seem to be rushing through the examination but we request them to follow a proper schedule and hold the examinations in March so that they get proper time to prepare,” the students said.
Students demanded proper time to prepare to face examination with relaxed mind rather than under duress.
“The weather in Kashmir Valley is also not feasible for examinations given that the deep freeze and power woes are adding to the difficulties of the people, particularly the students,” said a protestor.
To pacify the protesting students, two senior faculty members reached the spot and assured the students that examination shall be conducted in March.
“We promise that the examination will be held in March and just give an application in this regard,” the faculty members assured the students. After the assurance, the students dispersed off peacefully. (GNS)
