Shopian attack: Slain policemen identified, one critical
Police has identified the three cops killed earlier today in the militant attack at a police picket at Zainapora Shopian. Media reports said that Jaish e Mohammad outfit has claimed responsibility of the attack.
The deceased have been identified as constable Anees Ahmad is a resident of Kulgam, Sgct Abdul Majid, a resident of Ganderbal and Constable Mehraj u din, is a resident of Hajin Bandipora.
“Constable Hameed ullah 860/SPN resident of Anantnag is critically injured,” police said.
A local news gathering agency claimed that Jaish e Mohammad outfit has claimed responsiblity of the attack in which they decamped with four rifles of the personnel.
