In Pics: Massive funeral held for two Hajin militants killed in 18 hour long fierce gun battle with government forces

Bandipora: Thousands participated in the funerals of two Lashkar e Taiba militants from Hajin area of Bandipora district, who were killed along with a Pakistani affiliate of the organisation in an 18 hour long fierce gunfight in city ouskirts’ Mujgund area in a gunbattle with government forces on Sunday morning.
Police identified the three militants killed as Mudasir Parray, Saquib Mushtaq, both hailing from Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipore district.
The police identified the third militant as Ali Bhai, who is a resident of Pakistan, adding, he was the one who engaged the forces in the 18 hour long gunfight.
The area reverberated with Pro Freedom, Pro Pakistan slogans as the two funerals were held before the slain were laid to rest.
Government forces, including army, had to use heavy fire power to over power the militants who were changing positions.
During the course of gun battle, the heavy use of explosives left behind the trail of destruction.
The body of the Pakistani militant was not handed over to local’s. Authorities stopped giving Pakistani militant’s bodies to local population after top Lashkar e Taiba commander Abu Qasim was killed in July 2018. Which had led to massive funeral and various villages fought for his body to be buried in the village.
