PDP worker’s abduction fails in Pulwama

Pulwama: Suspected militants on Wednesday afternoon failed to abduct Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) worker in Litter area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Eyewitnesses said that suspected militants three in number were following a car in which a PDP worker identified as Mehraj Parra of Naira Tahab was traveling.
However, at Litter the PDP worker came out of his car and went into hiding in a nearby house.
The suspected militants as per reports searched for him but failed to trace him.
“They (suspected militants) took his vehicle and in the meantime forces reached the spot and took away Mehraj with them,” eye-witnesses said.
Locals said that forces were rushed to the spot and search operation was started in the area.
A senior police official, wishing anonymity confirmed the incident, saying that militants tried to abduct Parra in Litter area.
However, there was no confirmation whether his vehicle was recovered or not.
Pertinently, this is second such attack on Mehraj Parra during the last three months.
On September 03 this year, he was fired upon by unknown gunmen when he was coming out of sports stadium Pulwama. However, he escaped unhurt at that time too.
