Encounter breaks in Central Kashmir’s Budgam
Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Chatergam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday early morning.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 50RR, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Chatergam.
While the forces intensified searches towards suspected house the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering an gunfight.
A senior Police official confirmed that contact has been established with the hiding militants after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area.
As per sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
As this report was filed intermittent firing was going on. (GNS)
