Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai on Friday said that Kashmiris have been slaughtered with the most horrible weapons, including bulldozing and demolish their homes over their heads.
“The south Kashmir belt has been subjected to ruthless military offensive and the cost has been devastating, in terms of innocent human casualties as well as infrastructure. People of Kashmir were being victimized to quell their struggle for realization of their legitimate right to self-determination,” Sehrai said in a statement issued here.
He also paid tributes to the slain Bijbehara militants and expressed pain and grief and prayed for the patience of the grieved families.
“The supreme sacrifices of our sons are the biggest human investment of our ongoing freedom struggle. The priceless sacrifices of Kashmiri youth will always be safeguarded,” he said.
“Authorities have shamelessly used all kinds of oppressive policies to silence the voice and destroy the will of Kashmiri people through use of torture, arbitrary arrests and unlawful killing of thousands of innocent civilians including women and children that are indicative of war crimes,” he said.
“The government and its predecessors have ruthlessly implemented a systematic and comprehensive military, political, religious, economic, and cultural onslaught with the intent to destroy, demoralize and silence the legitimate demand of freedom from occupation,” he said, adding that but “the way Kashmiri people have remained firm and steadfast in their just movement for right to self determination despite facing colossal persecution and atrocities of all sorts at the hands of Indian troops is really commendable and beyond imagination.”
