Move beyond statements: JKDFP to OIC, other int’l forums

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Thursday welcomed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its continuous support to the freedom struggle of Kashmir.
The party as per a statement issued here has however, said that international forums like OIC have to do more than issuing statements so that people of Kashmir are saved from the Indian onslaught from all sides.
The spokesperson said that “OIC’s fresh statement to continue its support to the oppressed Kashmiri people is welcome but Kashmiri people need more than mere statements to get rid of the Indian imperialism.”
He said that it is the moral obligation of OIC to plead the case of Kashmiri people in the highest forums so that Indian atrocities in Kashmir are exposed.
Meanwhile, a JKDFP high-level delegation visited Akingam, Achabal in Anantnag to pay homage to the deceased Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mir Hafizullah.
Mir Hafizullah was killed by unknown gunmen who according to them are supported by hidden hands involved in such killings since 1990.
The delegation was led by Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar and in included Bashir Azim and Ghulam Mohammad Mukdam among others.
The delegation praised the role of Mir Hafizullah in the ongoing freedom struggle and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
It strongly condemned the killing of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district president for Anantnag.
