Newly elected trade president takes oath

Sopore: The newly elected president of Traders federation of Sopore, Qazi Hashmatullah Hashmie on Monday took the oath of office at Welkin school Sopore.
On the occasion, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash was the Chief Guest.
Other dignitaries including SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal, ADC Sopore Ashiq Hussain Lilly, SDPO Sopore Mashkoor Ahmad, Presidents of Traders federations of Srinagar, Baramulla, Kupwara and Handwara were present.
A large number of people including trade fraternity of Sopore, officials from Sopore administration, civil society members, members of Anjuman moin-ul-islam Sopore, Fruit Growers body, coordination committee Sopore and other people of the town were present at the occasion.
In the election which was recently held, out of total 2999 votes, 2189 voters cast their votes and Hashmi had got 1180 votes while as his rival and Ex trade President Haji Muhammad Ashraf Ganaie got 997 votes while as 12 votes were treated as invalid.
The newly elected president assured the people associated with the trade that he will work tirelessly to solve the different problems faced by them.
He also alleged that the government has neglected Sopore town in all aspects, saying that he will raise the issues faced by people of town with the concerned authorities.
