Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch has placed under suspension a teacher for election campaigning as well as allegedly abusing female voters during election duty in Poonch district of Jammu division.

The suspension orders by the deputy commissioner Rahul Yadav (IAS) followed a complaint against the teacher, Adalat Khan, and a video on social media in which he is purportedly seeing indulging in the campaigning.

The order against Khan, teacher middle school lower Lassana, also mentions that he abused the female voters when he was deputed for Panchayat Election duty on November 17 at Polling Station HS Marah W.No.05.

“Keeping in view of the above, Adalat Khan, Teacher, Middle School Lower Lassana is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect for involvement in political activities,” reads the order by the deputy commissioner.

The Chief Education Officer, Poonch has also been tasked to inquire into the matter and submit a detailed factual report into the matter within one week.  (GNS)
