Thousands attend funeral prayers of slain militants
Srinagar: Scores of people on Sunday attended the funeral prayers of two slain militants killed during a gunfight with the government forces in Reben village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, witnesses said.
They said that as the bodies of Nawaz Ahmad Wagay and Yawar Ahmad Wani reached their native villages of Reban, Shopian and Bhatnoora, Pulwama respectively, thousands of mourners from adjoining and far-off places converged there to participate in their last rites.
Witnesses said that multiple rounds of funeral prayers were held for both the slain militants.
